Maite Hollenbeck is the co-owner and creative lead of Sound & Steel Printworks in Chimacum, Washington — and the artist behind the work in this collection. Every design the shop prints passes across her desk first. If you have ordered from us, chances are you have already worn her work.

Her style pulls from vintage illustration and classic pin-up art: bold ink, warm color, and a sense of humor that never quite behaves. She draws what she loves — dogs, the Pacific Northwest, and a healthy amount of mischief. The pieces in this collection are a matched pair: a terrier standing guard over his treasure, and a devil entirely too pleased with hers.

Working with Maite is the opposite of uploading a file into the void. She proofs every order herself, sweats the details other shops wave through, and treats a crew shirt or a fundraiser design like it matters — because to the people wearing it, it does.
