Meet the owners

We’re Jon and Maite Hollenbeck.

Sound & Steel Printworks is the two of us — a Navy family that put down roots in Chimacum, on the Olympic Peninsula, printing every order in our own shop.

Jon spent 26 years in submarine logistics: the business of getting the right gear to the right crew, on time, every time. He runs this shop the same way — materials, scheduling, and making sure your order ships when we said it would. Old habits die hard.

Maite is the creative spirit and designer. Every layout, every crest, every last tweak goes through her — and she’s the one who answers your email and keeps your order on track.

We raised three kids across eight duty stations — Hawaii, Pennsylvania, the Pacific Northwest, Tennessee, Connecticut, Japan, Guam, and back to the Sound. We know exactly what a shirt with the right name and crest means to a crew, a team, or a school, because we’ve been the family waiting on that box.

Every order gets checked before it ships. We’d rather reprint a shirt than send out one we’re not proud of.
